Weddings

If you are recently engaged or considering marriage, we would love to meet you!

Marriage is a sacred and wonderful part of our society and Christian culture, and a wedding is one of the most joyous and beautiful days of our lives.  You can find out lots of great information and ideas at the Church of England’s dedicated weddings site.

If you live in the parish of Highbridge or have what’s called a “qualifying connection” with us we will be delighted to discuss the possibility of being married at St John’s. To check if you live within our parish, please follow this link and enter your postcode.  However, even if you or your family don’t live or worship here regularly, we may be able to help. Just get in touch and we can discuss your hopes and plans.

For all enquiries about marriage and weddings, please contact the parish office in the first instance, and one of the clergy team will be delighted to speak to you.  No question is too obvious – we want to help.

(In the Church of England we recognise that sometimes, sadly, marriages fail.  However, in our church it is still possible to marry again after a divorce.  We are currently are not permitted by law to conduct same sex marriages, however we are very happy to meet and pray with you.)
