Youth Group

On a rubbish tip near Jerusalem - 6 of 8Every fourth Sunday of the month we hold a gathering of our younger people. And by ‘younger’ we mean those who are 10 years old or older. As a guide, most are already in Year 7 or above, but not all.

The aim of the group is to provide a safe place to share aspects of faith that appeal to younger people, and to give our younger people a chance to just chat about and explore what God means to them. There are few areas of our lives that we deem ‘off limits’, and over the months we have discussed issues such as different faiths & their traditions (including why some muslim women wear Hijab and Burka), Lent and penitence, climate change and why priests wear the clothes they wear.

Sometimes there is food (pizza mostly, and biscuits), and sometimes there is a barbecue and a water fight (well, once, anyway).

During the winter we tend to meet in the vicarage, but try to gather in the church when it is warm enough.

If you are 10 years or older, then please do come along, or perhaps chat to Revd Sharon or Revd Simon to find out more.
